  1. When I’m having a moment questioning what my purpose is in life I remember Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I for you,” declares the Lord, “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

There is an old saying “If you want to hear God laughing tell Him your plans” and I recall that when I start making all these plans. I am not always good about it but I am doing better about putting my dreams, hopes & wishes before the Lord before making plans. And even when I don’t consciously do it, he listens to my heart before by stated goals, and because he does I am living in Barcelona.

    • That’s my mother’s favorite scripture. I am a planner, it’s something I do lots but after awhile I started to notice many of my plans I’d made w/o God turned out no so well. Even after I became a Christian I couldn’t give up that need to control but my controlling was leading me down bad pathways. I’m still asking for God’s help as I try to give up more and more control and be obedient which is not always the easiest thing to do. But when I trust and am obedient it turns out so much better than ‘my plans’. My goal to be a happy, joyous Christian while I waited on God just came from a Joyce Meyers program, I thought well how simple is that, I’m looking for some complicated goal but it’s not that complicated. I have have faith, trust and be obedient then I’m always happy, joyous. Now that I’m going to be a mommy that’s part of my purpose, so I ask God for instructions on being a good mommy and wife. I know people may be surprised but I’ve found contentment in this life. That’s the best part. Whatever He needs for you to do, he’s got all the resources to get it done.
